While waiting in my representative’s local office to appeal for the end to the war on immigrants, I found an article in The Congressional Quarterly about Israel’s request for its citizens to enter the United States without visas and stay for up to 90 days.
- Illinois Congressman Dennis Roskam’s Statement of Support for including Israel in Visa Waiver Program
- Jerusalem Post article blaming non-Jewish Israeli citizens for Israel’s high rate of visa denial
- Times of Israel Identifying High Rate of Israeli Citizens’ Violations of Visa and Working Illegally as Main Problem
While this is certainly not a pressing issue, I think Israel’s high rate of denial of visas, primarily due to Israeli citizens’ overstaying visas and working in the United States illegally and flagging non-Jewish Israeli’s as security risks, is another reflection of the contradictions of a state based on religious/ethnic exclusivity.
